In Kerala, U Khader Moideen, against whom the CBI had issued a red alert in connection with a customs duty evasion case, surrendered before the CBI Special court in Ernakulam today.Khader Moideen, a native of Chennai is the prime accused in the case in which about 20 crore rupees duty evasion was detected by the CBI. This was in connection with the import of electronic goods through the Cochin International Airport two years ago. The CBI case is that the duty evasion was done with the connivance of the customs officials.Moideen was remanded to judicial custody till the 16th of this month. The Court will consider his bail application day after tomorrow.
