The 14th Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films came to a close today with a glittering award ceremony.<br/><br/>The Golden Conch Award for the Best Documentary Film (upto 60 minutes) was awarded to Manipuri documentary "Phum Shang". <br/><br/>Directed by Hao Bam Pabankumar, the documentary examines the serious environmental issued being faced at Loktak Lake. Meanwhile, Swiss film "My Name is Salt" and Indian entry "Placebo" shared the Gold Conch award for the Best Documentary Film (above 60 minutes).<br/><br/>Debanjan Nandy's animation film 'Chhaya' bagged the first prize in the Animation Category while Mumbai filmmaker Devashish Makhija's 'Agli Baar' shared the Best Short Film honour with UK's 'Solo Finale' by Ingo Putze. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the Best Debut Film of a Director went to Denmark based film maker Nitesh Anjan for his film 'Far From Home'.<br/><br/>The week long MIFF 2016 showcased over 385 films under International and National competition, MIFF Prism, Indian Premiers, Jury retrospectives, Animation and award winning films , Children's documentary films, North East package, Films Division and Public Service Broadcasting films.
