Curtain falls on six-day 4th Asian Para Games with closing ceremony at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Centre in Hangzhou, China

The continental sports gala bid adieu to the participants and everyone involved in a poetic party filled with Chinese culture and music. The chief director of the closing ceremony, Sha Xiaolan, said the ceremony depicted China's love for its friends and Asian camaraderie.
 
India ended the Asian Para Games 2023 campaign with a best-ever haul of 111 medals. India bagged a total of 29 gold, 31 silver, and 51 bronze medals. With 111 medals, India finished fifth overall on the medal tally. Hosts China finished first with an overall tally of 521 medals, followed by Iran, Japan, and Korea.
 
Lauding India's performance at the Games, Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said in a social media post that as the curtains fall on an incredible journey, our extraordinary para athletes have not just clinched 111 medals but hearts across the globe with their unwavering determination and exceptional performances. He said that this is just the beginning and the government is dedicated to nurturing our sporting talents for a brighter, more promising future.
 
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has congratulated the Indian contingent on winning 111 medals. Talking to the media, the Sports Minister said that this historic performance of Indian athlete in the Para Asian Games has showed nation's growing power in Sports. He added that the performance in the games reflect the hard work of Indian athletes and the introduction of the right policies in sports be it the Khelo India Scheme at the grassroots level or the Target Olympic Podium Scheme for elite athletes.
