In the forex market, the rupee today weakened six paise against the US dollar. The domestic currency was trading at 74 rupees and 75 paise per dollar.

The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, rose 0.16 percent to trade at 95.55 in intra-day trade.
