In the forex market, the rupee appreciated 13 paise to trade below 74 rupees per US dollar mark. The domestic currency ended at 73 rupees and 91 paise against the US dollar.  

The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell 0.07 percent to trade at 95.93 in intra-day trade.
