Curfew will be realaxed in Bareilly for two hours; peace march organised in curfew hit areas

Curfew will be relaxed in Bareilly Uttar Pradesh for four hours between 10 AM and 2 PM keeping in mind the prevailing peace for the last two days. Our Lucknow correspondent reports that Monday brought some relief to the people of Bareilly city which was under curfew for the past 3 days. Schools and colleges will remain closed till furthers. <br/><br/>About 379 persons have been arrested till now for their alleged involvement in the incidents of violence, arson and damaging properties. Security has been beefed up and police and Para military personnel are deployed at all sensitive places and patrolling has been intensified. <br/><br/>A Three Members BJP fact finding committee headed by local MP Maneka Gandhi was not allowed to enter the city and she was detained at Ghaziabad. Security forces have conducted flag march in curfew affacted areas in Bareilly city. Rapid Action Force, Police and PAC personnel were included in the flag march which moved in all five police station areas including Prem Nagar, Baradari, Quila, Kotwali and Subhash Nagar. A helicopter has been pressed into services by the State government to keep aerial watch on miscreants.<br/><br/>District administration also organised a peace march in curfew hit areas in which religious leaders of both the major communities’ social organisations and professionals participated. It moved from most of the major roads in the town. <br/><br/>The officials have claimed that the situation is under control and arrangements have been made to supply vegetables, milk, other edible and daily use items to the public in curfew hit areas with the help of civil supply department and Mandi Parishad.
