Curfew relaxed in Assam’s Dhubri district

In Assam, curfew has been relaxed for seven hours from 9 AM to 4 PM today at Dhubri police station area in Dhubri district. But a strict vigil is being maintained by security forces.Speaking to AIR Guwahati Correspondent, State Home Secretary G D Tripathi said that two columns of army have been deployed at Dhubri and Gauripur area and they are staging flag marches. Additional police and Para-military personnel have also been deployed to maintain law and order situation. Security forces have arrested eight miscreants last night in connection with three incidents of stabbing and violence activities. Assam government has urged all sections of people to maintain peace and harmony. District administration clamped curfew on Thursday after tussle broke out during Durga idol immersion.
