In Uttar Pradesh, curfew was relaxed for one hour and 45 minutes in three police station areas in Muzaffarnagar district. District Magistrate told AIR Correspondent that the relaxation was given from 3.45 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Administration is distributing essential commodities in curfew bound areas.
Reports of sporadic violence are still coming. District Administration has deployed army and para-military forces in the villages where different communities are living. This has resulted in reduction of group clashes.
One person was killed in Chhichenda village under Meerapur Police Station of Muzaffarnagar district. The death toll in violence hit Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat and Shamli districts has gone upto 43. Senior officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.
