Fresh tension erupted in Kashmir valley on Monday evening and authorities have re-imposed curfew in Sopore town and severe restrictions under section 144, in Srinagar and all other main towns following killing of yet another civilian in police firing in Baramula. Fayaz Ahmad Khandy was killed when police opened fire on a mob of protesters who were heading to deputy commissioners office. These protesters were demanding action against those police personnel whom they alleged were responsible for drowning of a boy during protests in the town two days ago. Fresh protests had brooked out in the town after the dead body of the boy was retrieved from river yesterday. Deputy Commissioner Bashir Ahmad told AIR that twelve persons who received minor injuries in Monday’s incident have been discharged from the hospital while on person has been referred to a Srinagar hospital.
