In Assam, security has been tightened at Tamulpur in Baksa district as precautionary measure after police resorted to rubber bullet firing to disperse an angry mob last night. State Home Secretary GD Tripathi said no casualty has been reported so far in the incident. The incident occurred when local people demanding the release of 65 people detained for questioning by police. Curfew continued at Rangia Revenue Circle in Kamrup district since yesterday. Our correspondent reports that two columns of the army continue a flag march at Rangia after an angry mob set ablaze a bus.13 columns of army has also been deployed in Bodoland Territorial Area District. Assam government has already set up 104 fixed pickets in vulnerable areas. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that more such pickets will be set up if necessary . Gogoi also said that unidentified forces are fomenting violence in lower Assam and trying to destabilize the central and state governments. Meanwhile, 1 lakh 90 thousand people have returned to their homes from the relief camps.
