Curfew imposed in violence hit Shillong Agglomeration of East Khasi Hills district

<span style="color: #222222;">In Meghalaya, curfew has been imposed in Shillong Agglomeration of East Khasi Hills district with effect from 8:00 pm this evening till 5:00 am of August 17 following a massive surge in violent protest in Shillong against the killing of former Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) General Secretary.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In a statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills both the municipal and cantonment areas, all localities of Mawlai and Mawpat, areas between Umshyrpi bridge to 7th Mile, Madanrting, Mawblei, Laitkor, Nongkseh, Umlyngka, Lawsohtun, Mawdiangdiang, Diengiong and Siejiong will be under curfew.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Government has also shut down mobile data services in four districts: East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi anticipating a flare-up in the city after hundreds of sympathisers of the slain HNLC leader came out with black flags.</span><br />''  <br />
