Curfew imposed in UP’s Subhash Nagar after violence

In Uttar Pradesh curfew has been imposed one more police area Subhash Nagar after violence and arson incidents this morning. Five vehicles and 4 shops were set on fire by miscreants in this ara. Curfew is already continuing in Baradari, Quila, Premnagar and Kotwali in Bareilly district. Educational institutions are remain closed.<br/><br/>District police Chief DIG Rajeev Sabbarwal told our Lucknow correspondent this after noon that about 25 persons have been arrested today in the city after recent violence. He told that there will be no relaxation in curfew today in view of prevailing tension.<br/><br/>Meanwhile district administration has banned the procession of Rajgaddi taken out annually on this day considering communal tension prevailing in the city. Local people have expressed their anger against this decision of administration. <br/><br/>Security has been intensified in the all five curfew hit areas with deployment of 5 extra companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary. Police patrolling has been intensified and prohibitory orders are being implemented strictly. About 11 companies of PAC and Para military forces are already deployed in the city.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Ittehad-e-Millat Council, President Maulana Tauquir Raza Khan has been released. He was arrested on Monday for allegedly making inflammatory speeches and provoking people caused breach of peace and disturbance in communal harmony in the city. Union Minister of state for Coal Mr. Sri Prakash Jaiswal had asked the state Chief Minister for his release. He has written a letter to her in this regard.<br/><br/>About 300 persons have been arrested in the town for their alleged involvement in violence, arson and damaging public and private properties. Trouble broke out on 2nd of this month when some elements pelted stones on a religious procession leading to a clash between two different groups, which engaged in heavy brick batting.
