Curfew imposed in Sopore town of Kashmir following tension

In Kashmir valley authorities have imposed curfew in Sopore town and severe restrictions on people's movement today in most parts of Srinagar city and other main towns of the valley following death of civilian in police firing at Baramula on Monday evening. AIR correspondent reports that the firing incident took place when a mob of protesters was marching towards deputy commissioner's office in the town demanding action against police personnel allegedly responsible for drowning of a boy amid protests two days ago. The body of the boy was retrieved from the river yesterday and this led to the fresh wave of protests in the town.
