Curfew extended to one more police station in Faizabad district

In Uttar Pradesh, the curfew has been extended one more police station area in Faizabad district.Inspector General Police IG Law and Order of the state Mr. BP Singh told our Allahabad correspondent this evening areas under Cantonment police station of Faizabad town has also been put under curfew after straw incidents of violence on Thursday. Authorities had clamped curfew in Kotwali police area Thursday morning after violence during immersion processions of Goddess Durga idols.He said above one dozen persons have been arrested for their alleged involvements in the incidents of violence, arson, stone pelting and fire.Mr. Singh has said that 10 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary of state police, 1 company of Rapid Action Force and 300 police sub inspectors under training from police training colleges have been deployed in trouble hit areas to maintain peace and order.AIR correspondent reports that Director General Police AC Sharma and Additional Director General Police Intelligence Mr. OP Singh have visited the Faizabad and took the stock of the situation.The DG has said that prima facie carelessness of officials was responsible for the incidents and actions will be taken against the officers for their dereliction in their duties.Meanwhile, large numbers of police contingent have also reached at Faizabad from neighbouring districts.
