In Meghalaya, curfew has been extended to other areas in the Resubelpara sub-division of East Garo Hills due to ongoing ethnic clashes between Garo and Rabha tribals along Assam-Meghalaya border. Paramilitary forces are assisting police in enforcing the curfew in Mendiapathar and adjoining areas. The army has also been called to assist police and paramilitary forces and is on the standby.Mr. Baxi said if the situation improves even further, the district administration may relax curfew for lager duration.
