In Assam, indefinite curfew continues in Dhubri and Bilasipara sub-divisions of Dhubri district. Additional security forces have been deployed in the district. Army, Rapid Action Force and Central Para-military forces are maintaining a strict vigil.
Official sources said 14 persons have been arrested so far in connection with stabbing incidents in which one person was killed and two injured.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has instructed the concerned authorities to take stern action against those involved in acts of violence in Guwahati and Dhubri. The Chief Minister also met the injured in the blast admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital and assured to give them financial aid.
One CRPF personnel was killed and 12 persons were injured in the blast at crowded Paltan Bazar area. Security forces have intensified search operation at various places in Guwahati and picked up 52 persons for questioning.
