Curfew continues in Faizabad

In Uttar Pradesh curfew in Faizabad continues in both the police station areas of Kotwali and Cantonment for four consecutive day. The prohibitory orders are also been implemented at Bhadarasa Nagar Panchayat and adjoining villages.The Additional Director General Police Law and Order Mr. Jagmohan Yadav said to our Allahabad correspondent that special teams of police have been set up to nab the miscreants in trouble hit areas in the district. He said decision for relaxation of curfew will be taken after reviewing the situation. AIR correspondent reports, the government has claimed normalcy was returning in the district and strict actions are being taken against rumour mongers. District administration has now engaged public representatives and religious leaders for confidence building among common men and over one dozen meetings have been held across the town in this regard. No fresh incident of violence is reported from any part of the curfew hit areas during last 36 hours. Several persons have been detained as preventive measure. Series of meetings of peace committees attended by reputed representatives from all walks of life are also being held in most of the localities.Director General Police A.C Sharma told AIR Lucknow correspondent that decision for relaxation of curfew will be taken after reviewing the situation . Due to continuous monitoring of the situation by Chief Minister himself, all the administrative machinery in Faizabad is leaving no stone unturned to bring back the normalcy in the religious city. Peace Meetings with the elders of both the communities are being held, who have assured that to cooperate with administration in any manner possible. Adopting no leniency towards the trouble makers, police has filed more than 20 FIRs and arrested more than 50 persons so far under various charges in this connection. Meanwhile, IG Lucknow zone Subhash Chandra has told that strict action will be taken against the persons who are spreading rumors through Facebook and Internet.
