Tourism and Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the Bharat Parv at Red Fort in New Delhi this evening. The event is aimed at generating a patriotic mood, promoting the rich cultural diversity of the country and popularising the idea of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma said, the event provides an opportunity to the people to know the rich cultural heritage of the country.<br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that the week-long festival is a part of the Republic day celebrations and will continue till 31st of this month.<br/> <br/>Republic Day parade tableaux, performances by the armed forces bands, a multi-cuisine food court, crafts mela and cultural programmes from different regions are the main attraction of the festival. <br/><br/>There will be 11 theme state pavilions where each state will showcase their achievements and initiatives, tourism products and destinations. Information and Broadcasting Ministry has also set up a Photo Exhibition on the theme Mera Desh Badal Raha Hai, Aage Badh Raha Hai. The festival will remain open to the public from 12 noon to 9 p.m and the entry will be free.However, the visitors will have to carry ID proof to get entry.
