Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma today inaugurated the exhibition 'Frontier Gandhi and the Indian Freedom Movement' to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan in New Delhi today. Mr Sharma said that Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan's 125th birth anniversary calls for a special exploration of his life of sacrifice, commitment and achievement. On the occasion, the Minister also honoured the descendants of the freedom fighter.<br/><br/>Talking about Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan who was also know as Frontier Gandhi, Mr Sharma said he was devoted to attaining freedom and fostering unity among different communities. He said, Frontier Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi were complementary to each other and their memories would remain alive for the decades to come. He said Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan was a staunch nationalist and a pluralist to the core, who never accepted the two-nation theory and strongly opposed the partition of India. <br/><br/>Dr Sharma added that Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan's life and message are an inspiration for India and humanity at large. He said the freedom fighter stood for the finest in the Pathan character as seen in his intense passion for freedom, implicit faith in God, indomitable courage, boldness and fearlessness.
