In Assam, the culling of birds will resume today at Agomoni in Dhubri district. So far, over 5,000 birds have been culled in the avian flu affected Agomoni area of the district. The administration has banned the sale of poultry and its products within the three kilometers radius of the area by imposing section 144 of CrPC. 36 Rapid Action teams carried out the culling operations at 10 villages in the Agomoni area bordering Bangladesh.Meanwhile, the State Vetenary and Health Department has taken all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of avian flu virus. Tamiflu tablets have been made available in the district. No reports of bird flu infection in human have been received so far from any parts of the district.
