<span style="color: #222222;">Council for Scientific and Research, CSIR labs across the country are coming to aid of the needy by providing food, sanitizers and masks in their respective regions and beyond.<br />''<br />'' DG, CSIR, Dr Shekhar Mande said, Mysuru-based CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute has provided 10 tonnes of high-protein biscuits, one tonne of Spirulina Chikki, 10 tonnes of cardamom-flavoured water and five tonnes of nutri-fruit bars to more than 56 thousand individuals, including migrant labourers, patients, doctors and police personnel.<br />''<br />'' He said, food items supplied by institute have longer shelf-life and are supplemented with micro-nutrients that boost immunity and help in fight against SARS-CoV-2 virus. The fruit bars contain added Vitamin C and Zinc which are known to improve immunity.<br />''<br />''The Mysuru-based institute also supplied 500 kilograms of high protein biscuits and 500 kilograms of high-protein rusks to the AIIMS-New Delhi for recuperating COVID-19 patients. The biscuits are 60 to 80 per cent richer in protein than usual biscuits.</span><br />
