Clean Sports India, a movement for corruption-free sports in the country, has criticised Vijay Kumar Malhotra's appointment as the new Chairman of All India Sports Council and has called upon the government to reconsider the move. President of Clean Sports India (CSI) and Arjuna Awardee Ashwini Nachappa said in a statement in New Delhi today that the move is contrary to government guidelines restricting age limit of 70 years on Sports Federations and IOA. The sports council advises the ministry on all major policy matters. CSI said it was now violating its own guidelines which suggest one rule for federations and another for its officials.
