Cricket South Africa (CSA) has introduced a new Proteas player milestone programme that will recognise players for their achievements across all three formats of the game. The milestone programme is inclusive of both Proteas menand women players and will honour players dating back to South Africa's re-admission into international cricket in 1991.CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat said the milestone programme has been conceived as Cricket South Africa is currently celebrating its 25-year anniversary. He called it an ideal way to highlight the excellent achievements of men and women national players. The first milestone awards will be presented during the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
