CRWC to clean Coocum, other rivers in Chennai city

The Tamil Nadu Government has constituted the Chennai River Water Commission to be headed by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin to launch a plan to clean Cooum and other rivers in Chennai city.<br/> <br/>The other members in the newly constituted body include the environment and slum clearance board ministers besides the chief secretary and other related department secretaries. <br/><br/>Mr Stalin who had undertaken a four day visit to Singapore to study the model used by the Singapore government to clean up the rivers, briefed the Chief Minister Mr. Karunanidhi on his talks with the officials there. <br/><br/>Mr Stalin explained in detail the various pollution and environmental factors which have contributed to pollution of the Cooum river.<br/>
