Crude prices were higher in Asian trade on Friday. New York's light sweet crude gained 30 cents to 95.99 dollars per barrel while Brent North Sea crude rose 17 cents to 116.43 dollars per barrel. Analysts said the oil prices rose due to better-than-expected US retail sales and bargain-hunting following recent market slumps.
