Crude oil eases near $ 82 per barrel

Crude oil prices fell to near 82 dollars a barrel in Asia, today, paring two days of gains that were fuelled by signs that US crude demand may be improving. Benchmark crude for April delivery fell 75 cents, to 82.18 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.Meanwhile, the 12-nation Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, which accounts for about 40 per cent of global crude output, said yesterday at a quarterly meeting in Vienna that it would maintain the group's production quotas.
