In Rajasthan, crude oil deposits of around 37 million barrel have been found in Saraswati field of Barmer-Sanchore Basin. According to American Petroleum Institute the quality of this crude oil is estimated to be 42 degrees as compared to 27 degrees for the oil found in Mangla field earlier. Initially a production 250 barrel per day will be started from the newly found Saraswati field and it will be mixed with Mangla crude for onward transportation to refineries in Gujrat. Already 1 lakh 25 thousand barrel crude oil is being produced from Mangla oil field in Barmer district.
