Crude markets up in Asian trade

Crude markets inched up in Asian trade today as traders bought up cheap crude following a price plunge late last week caused by disappointing US jobs figures. New York's main contract light sweet crude for delivery in August, gained 18 cents to 84.63 dollar a barrel and Brent North Sea crude also for August delivery rose 27 cents to 98.46 dollar.
