Crucial meeting of Unified Command begins in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, the crucial meeting of the Unified Command has begun its meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The meeting will discuss the deployment of security forces in the valley, particularly in the Srinagar City. It will also review the notification of Disturbed Areas Act in the State. The Central Government, as part of the eight point formula announced recently, had advised the State Government to undertake its review. The seven day long session of the Jammu and Kashmir state legislature will begin from tomorrow.The short duration session is likely to be stormy. The opposition will raise the issue of recent unrest and civilian killings. The Government may target opposition for its role in the recent events. There will be some legislations on power sector reforms and related issues.
