Crucial bilateral talks between India, Japan now underway

The crucial Indo-Japan Summit has begun in Tokyo. Both the countries have agreed to elevate relationship to next level.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe are meeting at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo. Whole range of issues, including co-operation in Defence and Infrastructure development are likely to come up in the talks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already said that both the countries can play bigger role in world’s peace. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Akasaka Palace.

While delivering the keynote address at Business luncheon hosted by the Japan's business community earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized nations entering other's territory and also intrusion into maritime zone of other nations.

In a bid to encourage more investment from Japan, Modi announced that a Special Management Team will be set up under the Prime Minister’s Office. Modi also said that Japan government can depute two representatives from their country .

He said that India and Japan have greater role to play in ensuring Asia’s importance in global position. The Prime Minister emphasized that Japan and India can play the role for the world peace and development.

Modi said that his priority is to provide good governance. He said that India has made a big jump by achieving 5. 7 percent growth .Modi said that his government will emphasize on Skill development in the line of Japan to meet up the global workforce requirement by 2020 .

Modi said, India has 65 percent young population. He said that Japan can help India in this regard. Modi said that India will also go for mapping of global requirement of workforce.

The Prime Minister said that in the past 100 days the central government had undertaken many initiatives.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Akasaka Palace.Modi was also visited Taimei Elementary school in Tokyo this morning.

Prime Minister Modi is on a five day visit to Japan. During his visit, Modi has invited Japanese language teachers to visit India to teach the language in India.

The Prime Minister also urged the Japan Deputy Education Minister to introduce online audio-visual classes for Indian students’ in the Japanese language. Mr. Modi added that Indian languages can also be taught in Japan.

Meanwhile, the PMO has tweeted that there are two streams in the world one is ‘Vistarvaad’ and the other is 'Vikasvaad', referring to the speech of Narendra Modi in business luncheon in Tokoyo today .

The Prime Minister also assured the business community of Japan that they would get the same speed and response now also that they have experienced in Gujrat earlier.
