Cross border infiltration likely to increase: Antony

Defence Minister, A .K Antony has said that although the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is much better, there are concerted attempt from across the borders to increase infiltration. <br/><br/>Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi on Sunday, Mr Antony said that violence levels have come down in the state and situation is gradually returning to normal but those who do not like it, are redoubling their efforts to increase infiltration.<br/><br/>Replying to a question on whether the government is thinking of reconsidering its decision on troop re-deployment in the state, Mr Antony said that government makes its policies after careful consideration and discussions with all the concerned stake holders. In reply to a question on strengthening of border security in the North East, Mr. Antony said that India is not a war mongering country.<br/><br/>He said that the security scenario in the neighborhood is not good and there is need to remain vigilant and security is being strengthened wherever it is needed.<br/>On the Sukna land scam, Mr Antony said that action has already been initiated. He said that armed forces have a better system to punish the guilty and correcting aberrations.
