Renowned Agriculture scientist and Rajya Sabha Member Dr M S Swaminathan has stressed the need for inclusive agriculture to empower farming poor and combat poverty, hunger and malnutrition.
Delivering a lecture to mark the 40th anniversary of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics – ICRISAT in Hyderabad this morning, Dr Swaminathan has said the inclusive agriculture will play key role in fight against poverty especially in the dryland tropical areas of the World.
He further said providing technology to small farmers towards achieving economic security of the country. He also highlighted the crop biofortification to combat the malnutrition problem in the developing world.
