Croatia stuns defending champion Spain to qualify for round of 16 in Euro Cup

In the Euro football cup, low ranked Croatia stunned the title holder Spain in a Group D match to qualify for the round of 16, last night. This is Spain's first defeat in a EURO cup in 12 years. Croatia's Ivan Perisic scored in dying minutes of the game that helped stun Spain 2-1. Earlier, Alvaro Morata had given an early lead to Spain but Croatia had equalised through Nikola Kalinic before the half time. The result means Spain finished second in Group D and will have to play Italy in the round of 16 on Monday at the Stade de France.While, in Copa America football, the first semifinal between Argentina and US is underway at Houston, Texas. At the end of the half time Argentina was leading US 2-Nil. For Argentina Ezequiel Lavezzi scored in the third minute while Lionel Messi scored with a free-kick to double the lead and in the process also became Argentina's all-time leading goalscorer.
