Critical care fitted ambulances in J&K hospitals from March 2011

Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma has said that every district hospital in the State will be equipped with a critical care ambulance fitted with all vital facilities by the end of March next Year. Speaking at a Press conference in Srinagar, Mr Sharma said that adequate funds are available with Health Department for procuring 25 critical ambulance. Mr Sharma further said that adequate stock of medicines /surgical gadgets/equipment and well trained manpower is available in the hospitals. He asserted that Government ensured smooth medicare facilities during last three months despite disturbances in Kashmir Valley adding that health institutions have registered 20 to 30 per cent increase in the IPD patents care during the period. The Minister referred to the prompt response to tackle health emergency in Ladakh during cloudburst and flash floods and said that his department made Sonam Hospital of Ladakh functional within 12 hours and critical care including surgeries were resumed just within two days after the calamity struck the region.
