The most crisis-ridden Olympic Games in history opens in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro tomorrow with Rio organisers hoping to draw a line under a turbulent seven-year build-up to the greatest sporting show on Earth.Football legend Pele is tipped to ignite the Olympic flame at Rio's iconic Maracana Stadium in tomorrow's opening ceremony. The four-yearly celebration of sporting endeavour arrives in South America for the first time.The ceremony marks the start of a 17-day carnival of sport, a feast of drama framed by a Rio backdrop of breathtaking natural beauty. India's biggest ever contingent would be eyeing a historic medal haul in the 31st Olympic Games.The Indians are eyeing their first ever double-digit medal haul riding on the sheer number of qualifiers this time, standing at 118 now. On the first day of competitions on Saturday, India can eye a medal from Jitu Rai, the pint-sized star whose pistol has been shooting medals at almost every event he has participated in. In his fifth and final appearance, Abhinav Bindra, who would be India's flag-bearer at tomorrow's opening ceremony, would look to end his career on a high. Another big medal prospect for India would be wrestling.
