In UP, the crisis of drinking water has become acute in certain central districts and all the 7 districts of Bundelkhand region due to intense heat. <br/><br/>Hand pumps and other water bodies have dried up as the level of underground water has gone down. At many places the government has ordered to re-bore the hand pumps. <br/><br/>The water crisis is acute in Chandauli, Varanasi and Pratapgarh also where the water is being supplied through tankers. Meanwhile, there is no respite from humid heat with mercury registering above forty five degrees in most of the central, eastern and Bundelkhand districts.
