Crisis deepens in Karnataka BJP

The political crisis in Karnataka has deepened with both the factions of the BJP sticking to their demands. The group led by the Chief Minister, Mr. B.S.Yeddyurappa says it is ready to accommodate leader of the rival group as Deputy Chief Minister. But the dissident group, led by Mr. Jagdish Shettar, is insisting on the removal of Mr. Yeddyurappa. The leaders backing Mr. Yeddyurappa today held talks with the leaders of opposition camp and senior BJP leader Mr.L.K. Advani in New Delhi. Former MP Mr. Dhananjay Kumar and Karnataka Home Minister, Mr.V.S.Acharya also met Mr. Advani to discuss the crisis. Mr. Acharya held discussions with the party President Mr. Rajnath Singh as well. The rival group led by Speaker Mr. Jagdish Shettar met senior BJP leader Mr. Arun Jaitly, the party's pointsman for dealing with the crisis. Mr.Jaitly had spent three days in Karnataka last week to defuse the crisis.<br/>
