Minister of Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad has said, crimes against women are being dealt on a priority basis by the judiciary.<br />''<br />'' During Question Hour in Rajya Sabha, he said, an additional 102 fast track courts are proposed to be established across India specially to look into cases of crimes against women and children. Besides, he said 704 fast track courts have already been established to look into heinous crimes. He informed the House, there are provisions in the law for the judiciary to release those under-trials who have completed fifty percent of the tenure of maximum sentence for the crimes as charged against them.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''On vacancies in High Courts, he said 469 appointments have been made in the last five and a half years and efforts are on to fill up the remaining vacancies. He further said the Chief Justices of High Courts have been asked to expedite the recruitment of over five thousand subordinate court judges against the vacant positions to dispose of the pending cases. </span><br />
