Crime Branch Bangalore to probe two low intensity blast near Chinnaswamy stadium

The City Crime Branch has been entrusted the responsibility to probe two low intensity explosions outside Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore yesterday. Ten people are taken into custody for questioning. The explosions had spread panic just before the IPL match between Bangalore Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians. A crude bomb with timer, detonator and 3.2 kg explosive material was also recovered from gate no. 8 of the cricket stadium. The Bangalore City Commissioner Shankar Bidri said the explosions were of low intensity, amateurish handiwork to create flutter. The explosion has injured two police head constables, seven constables including a woman and three security guards. The Home Minister in the State Dr. V S Acharya said probe is on and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has been kept informed about the developments. <br/><br/>A crude bomb with timer, detonator and explosive material was also recovered from gate number eight of the stadium. The Bangalore city police commissioner said explosions were of low intensity amateurish to create flutter. <br/><br/>The bomb explosions near Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium yesterday unleased fear among cricket fans and delayed the 20:20 match by an hour. But sportive spirit refused to die when match continued under tight police security. The bomb wrapped in a plastic cover was hidden behind an advertisement hoarding near gate no. 12. Another bomb that exploded near Anil Kumble Circle was hidden in the bushes. Forensic experts, bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. Akram Rahman, the security guard narrating the incident said smoke filled the place, those standing near the gate were bleeding, soon ambulance arrived and took away the injured. Police sources say CCTV footage will also be looked into for finding lead to apprehend the culprits. <br/><br/>The explosions has injure two head constables seven constables including one woman constable and three private security guards. The Home Minister in the state Dr. V.S. Acharya said probe is on and union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has been kept informed about the developments in the probe.
