Ireland beat West Indies by four wickets in their opening Pool 'B' game of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Saxton Oval in Nelson, New Zealand. Ireland easily surpassed the target of 305 runs in 45.5 overs causing first big upset in the 14-team tournament. Paul Stirling scored 92, Ed Joyce 84 and Niall O'Brien 79 not out helped Ireland stun two-time world champions West Indies.
