Bangladesh takes on West Indies in an ICC World Cup Group Match in Dhaka today. Bangladesh will take on West Indies today in a Group B league match to be played at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka. Talking to reporters on the eve of the match in Dhaka, Bangladesh Skipper Shakib Al Hasan said that his team has only three more games to go and a win against West Indies will help his team qualify for the quarterfinals. Bangladesh is pinning its hopes on its spin bowlers to win the day and night match. The Bangladesh Captain said that his sqauad has enough spinners who can bowl forty overs. He said the team has a good mix of youth and experience and they are all set to give their best against West Indies. The Caribbean Skipper Darren Sammy on the other hand admitted that his team had lost a good player like Dwayne Barvo to injury but he expressed confidence that his team will play to its full potential. He also asserted that his team was ready to take on the spin attack of Bangladesh. In the ICC Cricket World Cup yesterday, while South Africa eased past the Netherlands in their Group-B clash, Pakistan survived a major scare against Minnows Canada in their Group-A encounter.At the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Skipper Shahid Afridi's yet another scintillating performance with the ball helped Pakistan beat the Canadians by 46 runs. Man of the match and the leading wicket taker of the tournament so far, Shahid Afridi recorded a superb 5 for 23. Chasing a modest Pakistani target of 184 runs, Canada capitulated for a mere 138 with more than 7 overs unused.In the other match, South Africa thrashed the Netherlands by a mammoth 231 runs at Mohali yesterday. In a match that featured two glorious centuries by AB De Villiers and Hashim Amla, the Dutch were all out in the 35th over for just 120 runs. AB De Villiers was adjudged man of the match.
