Reacting to the spot fixing controversy in the Indian Premier League,IPL, Sports Minister Jitendra Singh today said that his ministry has no control over the Board of Control for Cricket in India,BCCI, and IPL, but is trying to bring in more transparency in all sports. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, he said there is need to have a long term plan to deal or curb the menace of fixing in the matches. Mr Singh also sought suggestions from the states to tackle the problem.On whether BCCI chief N Srinivasan should step down, he said these are moral issues, people need to think for themselves.Earlier addressing the conference of the state ministers and secretaries of youth affairs and sports, Mr Singh said that government plans to set up 25 centre of excellence during the 12th plan for different sports to provide quality training for upcoming sportspersons. The Sports Minister asked the states to ensure that competent coaches should be provided for young sports persons
