On the opening day of the third cricket test against India at Southampton, England reached a comfortable 247 for two on an easy pitch when stumps were drawn last night. England Captain Alastair Cook came back to form with 95 runs and Gary Ballance scored his 2nd successive ton to put his team on top.Earlier Cook was dropped by Ravindra Jadeja at third slip when he was on 15. Ballance on 104 and Ian Bell on 16 were at the crease. For visitors, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja claimed one wicket each.India lead the five-match series One-Nil after winning second test played at Lord's by 95 runs. The first test at Nottingham had ended in a draw.
