Cricket being given priority over other games in country: Sonowal

The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal has stressed for awareness among the youth about problems being faced in the country. He said, they should draw attention of local authorities and states to find out solution to these problems. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, the Minister said, empowerment of youth is necessary and this can be achieved through three lakh youth clubs in the country.<br/><br/>Mr. Sonowal said that Cricket is being given priority over other games in the country. He called upon sportspersons that Kabaddi, Boxing, Football, Wrestling should be equally promoted. He also said, states should develop infrastructure for sports at every level since it is a state subject.
