<span style="color: #222222;">Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today said that credibility is the USP of Doordarshan and biggest Direct To Home (DTH) Operator is DD that connects millions of people across the country. <br />'' <br />'' Speaking at a function to launch free distribution of DD DTH Set Top Boxes in Srinagar, Mr Javadekar said more than 700 TV channels in almost every language are functional across the country. <br />'' <br />'' The minister said he is happy and content that about 9 crore TVs are connected with DTH as of now. The Minister said, from today DTH set top boxes shall be distributed free under a scheme across the country. Mr Javadekar also released new Signature Tune of DD Kashir.<br />'' <br />'' Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh launched the Dogri news bulletin and thanked Information and Broadcasting Ministry for launching Dogri news bulletin, distribution of free set top boxes and release of DD Kashir signature tune. <br />'' <br />'' Dr Jitendra Singh said the news bulletin is like a soft power which will help in fighting the negative propaganda of enemies. He said this will also help people in border areas where they can't afford other channels because of monetary constraints. <br />'' <br />'' Dr Singh said that Dogri speaking people will always remember this date when they will watch Dogri bulletin on satellite. He said the composite culture and literature of J&K will also get a boost as Kashmiri, Dogri and Ladakhi languages will be available on the same channel. <br />'' <br />'' He described DD Kashir a single channel that could bring hearts together. Dogri news was brought from analog mode to digital mode and now could be watched on  DD Kashir.<br />'' <br />'' Dr Surya Prakash, Chairman, Prasar Bharati said that DD Kashir achieved another milestone today by getting a new signature tune which reflects the spirit of Kashmir. He said Prasar Bharati will make continuous effort s with state govt in its march towards peace and development.  <br />'' <br />'' He thanked state government for identifying beneficiaries for free DD dish scheme. Chairman said that Kashmiri version of "Koun Banega Karorpati" has given a huge impact to DD Kashir in becoming a mass channel in the state.<br />'' <br />'' Dr Supriya Sahu, DG, Doordarshan in her welcome address said that DD Kashir has never stopped its operations whether it was flood or any other challenging situation.<br />'' <br />'' Governor Satya Pal Malik describing today's achievements as a very good beginning said that DD is an authentic and credible source of news. He added that DD Kashir content and production is very good. He said that with the ban on cinema in Kashmir, DD offers a good alternative of entertainment.
