The Congress reiterated its stand that it will proceed with the creation of Telangana only after a resolution is passed by the state assembly. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Congress spokesman Mr Shakeel Ahmad said that Congress is not against smaller states and if a consensus is there it will not object formation of 2nd States Reorganization Commission.<br/><br/>Dismissing any division in the party on the issue, Mr Shakeel admitted that some members are against the bifurcation of the state. Standing by the statement given by the Home Minister announcing initiation of the process, Mr Ahmad said that the health of the TRS leader K Chandrashekhar Rao was the main concern at that time.<br/><br/>The political uncertainty continued in Andhra Pradesh over Telangana issue, even as protests intensified at several districts of Coasta and Rayalaseema regions against bifurcation. Hectic political parleys are underway with the Ministers and MLAs across the board holding separate meetings on regional lines.<br/><br/>The winter session of Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council has been abruptly adjourned sine die yesterday as the impasse continued over resignation of 138 MLAs belonging to Rayalaseema and Coasta regions protesting Centre’s announcement to carve out Telangana state.<br/><br/>On the other hand, tension continued to prevail at several places of Coasta and Rayalaseema regions as few MLAs sat on fast at different towns protesting separate state for Telangana.<br/><br/>Protests turned violent at some places as the agitators damaged public and private property. Amidst tension, Vijayawada Lok Sabha Member Lagadapathi Ragagopal has been taken into preventive custody on Monday in Hyderabad when he started fast at L B Stadium in Hyderabad. <br/><br/>Medical aid was given forcibly to the fasting students at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on the direction from the State Human Right Commission’s instructions. AIR Correspondent says; hectic political parleys are on in Hyderabad.<br/><br/>In the midst of political crisis over separate Telangana state, the Ministers who had announced their resignations earlier appear to have softened their stand after holding discussions with Chief Minister Rosaiah last evening as they have refrained from putting in their papers.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Legislators of Congress, TDP and PRP from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions continued their demonstration of unity even as their counterparts from Telangana accused them of a conspiracy to stall a resolution on the statehood. On the other hand, Telugu Desam Party MLAs from Telangana demanded a separate committee for their region, while those from the other regions proposed to press the Speaker today to accept their resignations.<br/><br/>Though the Joint Action Committee that was formed fight against bifurcation has withdrawn its call for bandh in Vijayawada, it has decided to continue protests. The Congress remained a divided house as its MLAs from Coasta and Rayalaseema appeared to differ over pushing for a harder line or for waiting for the central leadership to act.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Telangana Congress MLAs have decided to organize a thanksgiving meeting on Tuesday.<br/>
