Top earning Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)will have to double their minimum expenditure on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the next fiscal. According to the new norms of the Department of Public Enterprises, CPSEs earning net profit of over 500 crore rupees will have to raise their minimum expenditure on CSR to one per cent from the existing 0.5 per cent. However, the upper limit of two per cent CSR expenditure remains unchanged.
