In Nepal, members of the Youth Association of Nepal, the youth wing of the ruling CPN-UML today staged demonstrations and went on a rampage in different parts of the country in protest of the detaining of their Chairman Mahesh Basnet in Eastern Nepal. Basnet and three others had been detained at Biratnagar for ignoring the prohibitory order issued by Morang Administration.The local administration in Morang district extended the time span of the prohibitory order issued in Biratnagar by three hours and will continue till 9pm today. The administration implemented the order yesterday prior to the CPN-UML-affiliated Youth Association Nepal ‘s plan to stage demonstrations in support of the its Morang Coordinator Parsuram Basnet.The Federation of Nepalese Journalists had filed case against Parsuram Basnet, and two others claiming their involvement in the attack on journalist at Biratnagar last week .The journalists have been mounting pressure on the government to arrest the alleged culprits .
