CPI(M) today welcomed the Supreme Court judgement on handing over the Saradha chit fund case to the CBI. The Party Politbureau, in a statement said, the probe should be able to uncover the political nexus behind this large-scale swindling of funds and money laundering. It demanded that all the assets of the Saradha group of companies and the owners should be confiscated and interim compensation paid to all the depositors. The party also alleged that Mamata Banerjee led TMC government in West Bengal has been opposing investigation by the CBI in the matter which had affected 25 lakh depositors in four states.
