CPIM wants stringent law on honour killing

<br/>The CPI(M) today called for a firm decision by the Union Government for a separate law on honour killings. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party Politburo member Brinda Karat has said that the decision of the government to refer the issue of legislation for honour crimes to a Group of ministers will further delay the entire process. Ms Karat urged upon the government to take steps to ensure an adequate legal framework to address this increasing crime and to bring relief to affected people.
